Coal Regions of Pennsylvania, a group on Flickr.
I’m moderator on flickr for the group “Coal Regions of Pennsylvania” It is a place to share and discuss photography in the coal regions. Any and all coal region photos are welcome!
The Coal Region is a term used to refer to an area of Northeastern Pennsylvania in the central Appalachian Mountains comprising Lackawanna, Luzerne, Columbia, Carbon, Schuylkill, Northumberland, and the extreme northeast corner of Dauphin counties.
Our way of life is unique in the coal regions. From homemade kielbassa and boilo, block parties on summer nights. Right down to our mining heritage. This group was created to capture and share our small town way of life.

Secrets of Most Productive People I Know
- Truly creative innovators or problem solvers have a rich life outside of work.
- Taking a break—just walking around for a minute—can reset and refresh your mind, allowing you to see solutions that another hour at the desk would not have revealed. It’s one reason we often have our best ideas driving home.
- worked in several different industries; have the experience to see the value in re-framing problems.
- surrounded by great collaborators; wide networks allow them to incorporate a wider range of thinking, contacts and information and they bring light and air into the business.
What this means is that the secret to productivity isn’t a new organizer, a piece of software, or a new app. It’s having a whole life.

I’ve been playing the ukulele for about three years now. I decided to build my own ukulele out of a cigar box. This is my first uke build. I also built two guitars. One electric and one acoustic. When building them i try to use only found stuff and spend as little money as possible…makes it more fun!

You Like To-may-toes and I Like To-mah-toes
The DOCUMERICA Project was a photography project that spanned most of the 70s. From it a wealth of important photo documents were achieved that show environmental problems across America. The portion of the series we’re presenting today features the New York’s subway and the visible urban decay.
